Mr. George brought his leopard tortoise ‘Taboo’ in today to show the children. They really enjoyed watching her moving across the tarpaulin and eating her food.

Taboo is eight years old and her favourite food is dandelions! We had to be quiet and gentle so that we didn’t scare her, as if she felt scared then she hid away in her shell! The children enjoyed smoothing Taboo on her shell and her legs – exploring the different textures they could feel.

Taboo was very heavy and some of the children got to hold her. Taboo could live until she is 75 – 80 years old so she has a long life ahead of her!

Thank you to Mr. George for bringing Taboo to see us.
We hope to meet some more interesting animals soon when we visit Dartmoor Zoo on Monday 15th July.
