Over the past few weeks at Greenshoots the children have been following the theme of Under the Sea.
The children have been enjoying a wide range of activities connected to the theme which they have found very enjoyable.
We have listened to lots of Under the Sea stories, some which we read in our Under the Sea themed role play cave which the children thoroughly enjoyed!
We visited Efford library to collect some books related to our theme.
The children have enjoyed exploring our different Under the Sea themed trays with pretend sea creatures, water or ice, stones and plastic coral inside.
The children also enjoyed using blue playdough to make their own sea creatures and items you might find under the sea.
We have also been doing lots of different craft actvities connected to our theme. The children have enjoyed making their own fish tanks with blue cellophane water and paper sea creatures.
They have also enjoyed painting and making collage sea creature pictures. Our paper plate jelly fish were also a big success!
The children really enjoyed making sea creature themed shortbread biscuits – they were really yummy!
We have been very impressed with the Under the Sea creations which the children have been bringing in from home. Alex brought in a fabulous egg box lobster, Amelia brought in a plastic bottle jelly fish, Chase and Darci-Rose both brought in beautiful fishy pictures and Blake and his Mum made a lovely under the sea picture with a shark on.
Thank you to everyone for their contributions.
