Greenshoots visit The Tamar Valley Donkey Park – 16 December 2013
Today we took the 18 Greenshoots children, 7 parents and 6 staff members on a Christmas Trip to the Tamar Valley Donkey Park.
We travelled to the donkey park on a coach which was an adventure in itself! The children had a lovely time exploring the donkey park and looking at the animals. We saw many interesting animals such as donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and rabbits. We got to feed and pet some of the animals and they were all very friendly!
Unfortunately it was a bit rainy during our visit to the donkey park but luckily they had a brilliant indoor play area that kept the children very busy! There were trampolines, slides, climbing equipment, mini tractors, a ball pool and a building area.
The children then went to visit Father Christmas in his special grotto. He told them the traditional story of Christmas and asked the children what they would like for Christmas. Each child also received a special present which was a cuddly animal that could be found at the park.
The trip was partly funded by the Laira Green Trust, therefore we would like to say a big thank you for a lovely day!
