During the summer term the older children have been participating in our Read Write Inc. programme.
This programme helps the children become familiar with the initial letter sounds.
We have special Read Write Inc. cards and a basket of objects that correspond with items featured on the cards so that the children have visual objects to look at.
The Read Write Inc. programme is implemented at Laira Green primary which is where a lot of the Greenshoots children transition to school. Therefore they get a good head start on learning their letter sounds before starting school in September 2014.
