Welcome

Welcome back to Greenshoots – we hope you all had a lovely half term.   This half term the children will engage in lots of Autumn themed activities.  We hope you all enjoyed participating in our home learning challenge over the half term.

This week the children will be engaging in activities relating to Guy Fawkes and fireworks.  We will teach the children about safety around fireworks.

As the term goes on we will start preparations for our Christmas celebrations and events.   You will soon receive a letter with information about our trip to the Tamar Valley Donkey Park.  The trip is booked for Wednesday 12th December 2018.

During this term we will also celebrate some other religious festivals, such as Hanukah and Diwali.

Arriving in the morning

We are now in the wet and windy season so if you arrive at Greenshoots slightly early we will let you in if there is torrential rain outside and strong winds.  We ask that you stay with your child until the bell rings at 8.45am so that we can ensure we have our full staffing capacity.  Thank you.

Staffing and Students

This week we will be interviewing for 2 new early years practitioners.  We will inform you of who the new practitioners are once the process is complete and appropriate checks have been made.

We would like to congratulate Ellie who was successful in her interview to become the new senior practitioner at Greenshoots.

We have a new student from Discovery College working with us at present.  Jodie is completing her level 3 in Early Years and you will see her around the setting on a Wednesday and a Thursday.

Tapestry

Can we please remind parents/carers that your child’s learning journey is created on our online system called Tapestry.  Log into to your child’s learning journey to see what your child has been doing at pre-school.

You can also upload photos from home onto Tapestry so that we can see what your child is learning at home as well as at Greenshoots.

What to bring

Now we are in the colder months we would like you to bring:

*Warm clothing.

*Warm and waterproof clothing for outdoor play.

*Wellies for outdoor play.

*Hat, gloves, scarf.

*Spare clothes.

Trays

All children now have a tray in the main room.  Your child’s name is displayed on a tray and in there you will find letters, pictures and your child’s personal belongings such as blanket or toy.

Please check your child’s tray at the end of each session for letters or picture’s.

Fees

As a charity run Pre-school it is very important that we receive your fees on time.  We politely ask that when you receive your invoice you pay your fees by the given date to avoid any outstanding payments for your next invoice.

You can pay by Cash, Cheque or online.  Our bank details are found on the bottom of your invoice.   Please speak to Natalie, Kerry or Katusha if you have any queries about your invoice or about making payment.

Thank you for your support.
