Early Years Pupil Premium funding is available to providers to fund additional support to the education of disadvantaged 3 and 4 year olds. Early Years Pupil Premium equates to £0.53 per hour per eligible 3 and 4 year old, which could provide up to £300 annually. Early Years Pupil Premium should fund additional support, training or resources to help improve the outcomes of our most vulnerable children, by raising the quality of their early education.
Greenshoots, as an early education provider, will be able to claim the Early Years Pupil Premium for 3 and 4 year old children whose parents / carers are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- Universal Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Children who have left the care of the Local Authority i.e. those who have been adopted, left care through a special guardianship order or are subject to child arrangement orders, will also be eligible to EYPP.
Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Registering could result in extra funding for your child’s early years education.
In order to claim this additional funding for your child here at Greenshoots, we ask you to complete a Early Years Pupil Premium form. This form will be given to you at the same time as your termly Early Years Education Funding Parent Declaration form, in the term after your child turns 3 years old. If you complete the form and return it to us, you are giving permission for an eligibility check to be carried out. We will input the details provided into the Provider Portal and a check is made on your National Insurance Number. If you meet the criteria for this additional funding then the setting will start to receive the funding for your child from Plymouth City Council straight away. This funding will be on top of the usual Early Years Education Funding that every 3 and 4 year old receives.
We need information about you and your child to provide the best education and support by making sure we receive all the government funding to which we and your child are entitled.
We are committed to ensuring that the personal and sensitive information that we hold about you is protected and kept safe and secure, and we have measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. We will use the information you provide to assess entitlement to the Early Years Pupil Premium.
If you have any questions or queries, then please speak to Kerry or Katusha at the setting, who will be happy to assist you.
