Meet the Managers

Manager – Strategy and Support / Safeguarding officer

A message from Kerry, our manager (currently on maternity leave):

Hello my name is Kerry and I am the Strategy & Support Manager at Greenshoots.  I have been employed in a managerial role at Greenshoots for over 6 years.  I now work part time in the setting since having my son Shane.  You will see me in the setting on a Monday and a Wednesday.  My role is now more office based but I still work with the children regularly.

I gained a BEd in Early Childhood Studies with Qualified Teacher Status from the University of Plymouth in 2004. I then gained Early Years Professional Status in 2008.  I have worked with children for over 14 years now.

Prior to starting at Greenshoots I worked in several other Early Years establishments with children aged 2-5 years old. I have always had a passion for working with young children and wanted to do so from a young age.

I am very passionate about what we do at Greenshoots and always aim to ensure we are meeting our aims and objectives in offering a high quality childcare setting where the children are at the heart of it.  The learning, development and care of all our children are my key priorities, along with ensuring we are meeting all the essential safeguarding and welfare requirements we must adhere to.

Manager – Operations / Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator (SENDCo)

Hello my name is Natalie and I am the Operations Manager at Greenshoots.  I have worked at Greenshoots for over 6 years now and I started here as the Deputy Manager.  I thoroughly enjoy my role as Operations Manager and you will see me at Greenshoots Tuesday-Friday – 8am-6pm.

I qualified in 2002 with my BTEC National Diploma in Early Year’s – Level 3 and have recently completed my Level 4 in Advanced Practitioner. I have over 15 years’ experience working with children in many different Early Years settings across Plymouth.

I have a passion for helping children develop to the best of their ability and ensuring that they are supported in their learning.   I also love to plan messy play activities for the children and love to get the children learning in the outdoors.

I aim to keep all children safe in a secure environment and aim to maintain high standards of safeguarding for all children who attend our setting.

I am also the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator at Greenshoots.  I have many years’ of experience supporting children who may have additional needs.  I work closely with the parents / carers and other outside agencies to provide the early intervention that is crucial for all children.
